On Monday, June 10th, the legendary Christopher Wallace, also known to the hip-hop world as Biggie or the Notorious B.I.G. will have a street named in his honor. Of course, the street will be in his hometown of Brooklyn, but even better, the street will be where he lived. St. James Place at the Fulton St. intersection will be officially changed to Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace Way at the ceremony on Monday.
At 12pm EST, all of the general pubic is invited to be a part of the ceremony. Leroy McCarthy, the man who pushed for the renaming, received the City Council's approval with a vote of 48-0 in favor of the name change back in December. He said of the renaming back in November, “Honoring Biggie symbolizes more than just one man. It symbolizes a culture. It symbolizes a borough. It symbolizes a people, and hip-hop is worldwide.”
