Dalilah Muhammad looks primed to earn another gold medal to her trophy case when the olympics come next year. On Sunday, while we were at church, brunching, washing cars, or just being plain ole lazy, Dalilah having the best race ever, breaking a world record during the 2019 USATF Outdoor Championships.
While she ran her best day, the conditions were not suited for a record-breaking day. The weather was not the best and the track was wet. Dalilah had just gotten over a concussion two weeks ago. She was just ready to run because her training is impeccable.
Dalilah ran a time of 52.20 seconds, which is .14 seconds faster than the world record that was set by Yuliya Pechonkina in 2003. After the race, realizing what she had just done, Dalilah said in an interview with NBC Sports, "I'm still in shock." Her performance over the weekend sealed her trip to the IAAF World Athletic Championships in Doha. She will compete in the 100m and 400m hurdles.
