Dwayne Wade has turned the Heat up!!! The retired NBA superstar cannot sit still in retirement. It has been reported that Wade has signed a multiyear deal with WarnerMedia, allowing Wade to serve in a few new roles throughout the company's portfolio.
Wade said in a statement to the press, “I’m thrilled and grateful to be joining the WarnerMedia family with many exciting opportunities ahead. I have great respect for TNT’s team of analysts and their longstanding commitment to quality sports coverage. After 16 seasons in the NBA, I look forward to connecting with my fans in this new role and bringing my own perspective to the game I love.” With the start of the NBA season being last week, we saw Wade beside our favorite TV panel of Shaquille O'Neal. Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, and Ernie Johnson. He will be seen regularly alongside Shaq and WNBA Legend, Candace Parker for TNT's NBA events on Tuesdays. Wade will also appear as an analyst during the NCAA Final Four and the National Championship.
The chairman of WarnerMedia News and Sports, Jeff Zucker said of the Wade acquisition, “Dwayne is a special talent. He’s a transcendent star with a charismatic, engaging, and thoughtful personality on and off the court. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the WarnerMedia family, and we could not be more excited to partner with him on these special projects.”
WarnerMedia also has Bleacher Report as a part of their portfolio in which Wade will serve as a creative director for the platform. In that role, Wade will help B/R find new and creative ways continue to build the bridge between culture and sports by cultivating custom content that impacts the younger generation of sports fans.
