Lil Baby Admits to Young Thug Paying Him to Leave the Hood to be a Rapper

XXL released their Fall 2019 issue which features Lil Baby on the cover. XXL interviewed the rapper in Atlanta, Lil Baby's hometown. During the interview, we found out some very interesting news.

Lil Baby gives all the credit for his booming rap career to fellow Atlanta rapper, Young Thug. During the interview, he spoke highly of the rapper and and also spoke very candidly about being a dad. He said, "Young Thug, he gave me all the jewels. He literally paid me to leave the neighborhood. [He said], 'Bruh you can rap, you got it. You could be next. You gotta leave the ’hood. I'ma pay you to come to the studio.'" This pushed Lil Baby to leave the street life behind him.

Lil Baby spoke on a time when Gucci Mane said he would sign the rapper, but Thug said, "He already signed to me." From that moment forward, Lil Baby has not looked back. He said, "And then from then on, I just start like every day, I ain't stop. I'm here now." This is not the only time Young Thug has done something like this. It is reported that Thug also never took any money from Gunna, another Atlanta rapper while he was coming up even though he is signed to another label. Thug just really wanted him to get out so Gunna could support his family. Young Thug just wants everyone to eat.

One Twitter user wrote, "If the entire Black community followed the model of Atlanta rappers we would truly be unstoppable."
