Last month, the 45-year old supermodel returned to the cover of Sports Illustrated to grace us with her beauty. Today, she is announcing the launch of a docu-series entitled, Beauty.
It seems like Tyra is in a creation mode. She finished her third book last April, dusted off her swimsuit, announced Modelland, an amusement park dedicated to models, and now is working on a new show, set to premiere in 2020. Her business savvy has led to the creation of many business, including her company, Bankable Productions. Her moves have led to being used a a case study at Harvard Business School, where she completed a certificate in Owner/Presidential Management.
Beauty will premiere on Quibi, which has been in the news recently because the platform will also be used to produce Lena Waithe's docu-series on the sneaker culture. Beauty's goal is to break barriers and challenge the traditional thoughts of what beauty beauty is or should be. Banks said, "As I look into the future, I see radical changes in both how people ‘attain beauty,’ and how the world perceives beauty. Our docu-series aims to expand and redefine the definition of beauty as we know it, challenging why we accept certain beauty parameters and reject others, and examining the beliefs behind those judgments.”
Heading into the project Tyra has rebranded her name to BanX. She said, “BanX is me, but she’s also every woman.BanX represents rebirth, and that beauty boundaries only exist to be broken.”
