From Friday, February 22nd through February 24th, the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships took place at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York. Athletes from across the nation competed in countless events over the course of the three days. While there were several Black winners during the meet, a few Black Athletes stood above the rest.
Donovan Brazier, the Texas A&M product broke the world record in the 600 meter dash, running a 1:13:77 in the race to bring home first place. 16 year old Athing Mu, from New Jersey won the 600 meter dash, running a 1:23:57, making her the current World Leader in the event and she also set the American record for the event as well. Demek Kemp, former South Carolina State University sprinter won the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.55. Lastly, Keturah Orji set a Meet Record in the Triple Jump, jumping a 14.55.
