Viola Davis is a powerhouse and is showing no signs of letting up!
After recently signing on to play Michelle Obama in the Showtime series First Ladies, the 54-year-old actress is now the new face for L’Oréal’s Age Perfect line. With this collection, the brand is targeting women with mature skin. Davis will star in TV ads, print, and digital advertising campaigns for the product.
Delphine Viguier-Hovasse, L’Oréal Paris’ Global Brand President said, “we are thrilled to welcome Viola as a member of the L’Oréal family. Viola’s tenacity authenticity, and bold spirit resonate with and inspire so many people. She challenges the status quo in all aspects of life and her drive to succeed has proven itself time after time. Viola is the perfect conduit to elevate our core message, ‘Because I’m Worth It’.”
Davis said she really doesn't see her own beauty as what is normally accepted by the masses as "beauty", so she hopes she inspires women with her image. She said, "There’s classical beauty, but with age and experience comes confidence - and there is nothing more beautiful than that.” Davis has the goal of empowering women and letting them know that beauty exists at every age.
Being the new spokeswoman for L'Oreal, the Emmy award-winning actress will use her platform to continually push the brand's diversity message to the world. She also joins fellow co-star, Aja Naomi King from How To Get Away With Murder as a brand ambassador for the company. Davis said, “I worked tremendously hard to get where I am today, overcoming feelings of doubt to become a woman who truly believes I am ‘worth it’ in every way. To now be part of a brand that has been championing women’s worth for more than 40 years and to use my voice to help empower others is truly surreal."
Shine on, Viola, we all are watching.
