First she showed us How to Get Away With Murder, now she's going to show us what it's like to be the First Lady of the United States.
It has been reported that Viola Davis has is prepared to executive produce and star in a new series for Showtime entitled, First Ladies. Davis will portray our forever First Lady, Michelle Obama. The series will have a runtime of an hour, focusing on the First Ladies' involvement in politics and will also showcase their personal lives while their husbands are in office. The show will be produced by the husband and wife pair of Davis and Julius Tennon through their company, JuVee Productions, in association with Lionsgate TV.
The series will delve deeply into the lives of the First Ladies, removing the mystery that surrounds their positions in the White House. The first season of the show will be centered around arguably the top three, most influential first ladies, Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, and the great, Michelle Obama. The stories are able to come to life due to the work and writing by Aaron Cooley, who did all of his research from public domains.
The series currently does not have a date it will air, however, there have been three approved scripts for the show. We cannot wait to see how Viola brings to the television set an already amazing person that is hard to replicate and reproduce.
